This is the first modular Power supply I have owned and like the fact that you only use the leads you need. Not a massive loom of wires that aren't needed. First up: I am very sensitive to noise. So I bought this with the excitement that I can switch between fan always on or hybrid (i.e., off below certain load).
However, what I received was a unit that didn't have the option to switch between hybrid and normal mode. In other words, the switch is gone.
To make matters worse, I run a systems with just a 65W TDP CPU, no GPU. But still, even when the PC is just idling all the time, the fan of the unit spins up every 15-20m aggressively, then silences off and turns off after a few seconds. The problem is, that the noise the fan produces when it spins up is that it's soo loud that it becomes the most annoying feature and completely defeats the purpose of it being hybrid.
I would recommend anyone to look for something else if they are looking for a quiet build. I'll definitely have to swap out the PSU for a different one, as this is really poor engineer on the thermal / noise side.
Also, I could only use 3 of the 4 mounting screws, because behind one was mounted a passive cooler blocking the hole.
Otherwise it does the job. It's modular, short enough to fit my build.
